Just received on a local trade--this is this reproduction '57 Porsche Speedster built by Vintage Speedsters of California.   This speedster is finished in Metallic Silver with Black interior and top and has 9k one-owner miles.  This speedster has the upgraded 1776cc engine w/ dual carbs.  This speedster was a turnkey build in 2003 and has a clear CA title as a '72 VW.

An original VW pan is , shortened and welded to the new steel skeleton. The rigid new structure retains the original VW pan designed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and integrates the largest frame possible.  In addition, the steering wheel is offset slightly, just as an original speedster..   

You can tell this car is solid just by opening and closing the doors and by seeing how straight and true the body is.  This car has been regularly service by qualified VW/Porsche mechanics.  An electric fuel pump and fuel regulator were also added, which improves performance of this engine.  This is a very dependable car that receives a ton on attention and in excellent shape. 

You will see these 356 reproductions priced at well above $20k--New builds are approaching $30k direct from Vintage Speedsters and retail dealers, such as park place motors, are selling them for mid $30's.   This is a nice vehicle that you can get a great deal on as it is priced at 19k!

Since most of our customers buy sight unseen, we always fully disclose even the most minor flaws in an attempt to prevent any surprises!  As viewed in the photos below, this vehicle is in excellent condition.  The original owner kept it garaged and maintained it well.  Upon a very detailed scan and assessment of this vehicle, we found very little to disclose in terms of flaws.   The interior is immaculate with the only flaw we noticed being a couple marks below where the key goes into the ignition--this appears to be from the key chain rubbing.  The top and tonneau cover are all in like new condition showing no wear. 

The exterior is in excellent condition with a very exceptional paint job.   The exterior has a total of 4 very small flaws we were able to find.  Vintage Speedsters included factory touch-up paint with the car, which is nice too have.  The touch-up was never used by the prior owner; however we did use the touch-up for one spot on each of the front and back bumpers.   Below is a description of each of the four flaws with photos attached of each--click on the thumbnails to view the full sized photos:

 (1) There are a couple of chip marks below the driver door rear view mirror.

(2) The back bumper has a scratch on it.

(3) The front bumper has a very small scrape at the very outer point psnr side

(4) There are a few minor scratches on the psngr rear quarter panel that are so fine they are hard to notice and hard for the camera to capture.
